Restoring & Repairing the Early Hand Loom

Restoring & Repairing the Early Hand Loom

Restoring & Repairing the Early Hand Loom

July 29 - August 2, 2024

One Week Session  $750

In this 5 day class our resident timber framers - Ben Levitt, Don Estes & Seth Kelly - will demonstrate some of the common and not so common repair work that needs to be done to bring an early hand loom back to working order.

Some of the tasks will include dealing with twisted beams, creating missing cross pieces, capes, lays, and repairing warp and cloth beams.

We will have four of our most finicky looms to be used for demonstrating on and participants will be able to pitch in and help in a hands on approach.

On the last day of the class participants may bring some of the problem pieces from their own looms to restore and repair.

Maximun enrollment in the class is 5 students.
