Weaving Linen Clothing Fabrics
February 15 - 19, 2027
One week session - $750 plus materials
Enrollment is limited to 5 students
Taught by Clem Gibson
This one week session will guide students through the process of weaving garment-weight linen yardage. Participants will select from a variety of weights and colors of linen yarn to design their fabric, then weave several yards in a four shaft weave structure of their choosing. We will discuss what types of fabric are suitable for garments and learn about best practices for weaving with this shining, fickle, beautiful plant fiber.
This course is suitable for beginner to advanced weavers. Intermediate and advanced weavers can elect to weave with singles linen, while beginners will work with a sturdier two ply yarn. All participants will leave class with a roll of linen fabric ready to be sewn into a beautiful garment.
